Gode Mutton
Gode Mutton is a traditional, slow-cooked mutton (goat meat) curry originating from the Pathare Prabhu community of Mumbai. It is a staple Sunday lunch dish characterized by its sweet-and-spicy flavor profile, which comes from a unique, homemade spice blend rather than added sugar.

Ingredients
- ½ kg Mutton
- 4 Onion finely chopped
- 4 Potatoes cut into chunk
- 2 Tomatoes chopped
- ¼ cup Oil
- 1 tblspn Ginger paste
- 1 tblspn Garlic paste
- 1 tspn Haldi
- 2 tspn Chilli powder
- 3 tspn P.P.Shambhar pwd
- 4 Lavang Dalchini
- 1 inch 4 velchi
Instructions
- Heat the oil & add the Lavang, Dalchini and velchi along with the hing,
- When well-tempered, add the onions and sauté, add tomatoes and sauté again for 5 min.
- Apply all the dry masala to the mutton along with the ginger garlic paste and keep aside for 20 min.
- Add all these to the onion mixture, adjust salt, and add 3 cups of water and cover it.
- Let it cook for abt 30 min till the mutton is well done.
- Add the potatoes to it and cook again till the potatoes are done
